The review page
What a Dafado review page shows and how it plays back a real recorded voice.
What a review page is
Every Dafado review has its own page. When someone holds the button and talks for about 20 seconds, that recording becomes a page you can visit, share, and find again later. The page plays the actual voice. It is not a star rating or a block of typed text. It is a person speaking.
Each review page is:
- Findable. It has its own address, so it can be linked to and indexed.
- Shareable. Send the link and the other person hears the same voice you did.
- Permanent. The page stays put. It does not expire or rotate out.
What you see on the page
The voice. Press play and you hear the real recording. Before the speech there is a short logo sound, and a soft music bed may play low underneath. The words you hear are the words that were spoken. For more on how that audio is put together, see the audio and the mix page.
A clean transcript. Dafado writes out what was said so you can read along or skim without listening. The transcript is tidied for readability while staying true to the recording.
Your own language first. The transcript defaults to the language you are reading in. The original language is always one tap away, and translation chips let you switch to other languages. Nothing is hidden. The original is always reachable.
The subject. A review is about a place or a person. When the subject is a place with a known location, the page shows that place and a map.
Suggesting a correction
Voices are recorded in the real world, so a spoken name is not always spelled the way you expect. Anyone can suggest a correction to a name on a review page. A suggestion does not change the page on its own. It goes to a review queue, where it is checked before anything is applied. This keeps names accurate without letting the page be edited by just anyone.
Right of reply
If the review is about a place, that place can answer in its own recorded voice, shown beside the review. A place can never take down, hide, or reorder a review of itself. Only Dafado removes content, and only when it breaks the rules. The right of reply page explains this in full.
