Where Dafado's Terms and Privacy policy live, and what they cover in plain terms.
The documents
Dafado publishes two legal documents on the main site: Terms and a Privacy policy. Each is versioned, so the exact text a guest agreed to at the moment of recording is recorded alongside their consent.
These pages are the authoritative source. This page is a plain-language pointer to them, not a replacement for them, and it is not legal advice.
What is processed
Processing centers on the audio a guest chooses to record. From that recording come the transcript and, when a reader asks, a translation. Alongside it, Dafado keeps the minimum needed to publish and attribute a review, such as an optional first name, a rating, and the place it is about.
The Privacy policy describes this flow in detail, including which services take part in producing and publishing a review, and where processing happens.
Consent at the microphone
A guest agrees to record and to publish at the moment they record. The consent record stores which version of the Terms and Privacy policy was in force at that time. Publishing is the intended outcome of recording, not a surprise afterward, and a guest cannot submit without agreeing to it.
Your voice stays yours
The Terms take the position that a guest keeps ownership of their voice. Recording grants Dafado a licence to host, transcribe, translate, and publish the review, and that licence ends when the review is removed. Dafado does not use a guest's voice to build voiceprints, identify anyone biometrically, or train AI models.
Removal
A guest can remove their recording, and removing it takes their voice off the place page as well. The Privacy policy describes the self-serve route for this and how it is confirmed.
A place cannot silence a review
A place that claims its page gains a right of reply. It does not gain the right to edit, hide, or take down a review of itself. This is stated in the policy and enforced in the product.
An honest caveat
These documents are written carefully and describe the real data flow, but they have not yet been reviewed by a lawyer. They are provided in good faith and will be strengthened over time. For anything that turns on legal specifics, read the Terms and Privacy policy themselves.
