Moderation and the review policy
The promise that makes a Dafado review trustworthy, and how moderation works.
Why this matters
A review is only worth reading if it cannot be bought or bent. Dafado's whole value rests on one promise: a place cannot control what people say about it. This page explains exactly what that means.
What a place cannot do
When you claim your place, you gain a right of reply. You do not gain editorial control. A place cannot:
- Reorder its reviews to push the good ones up.
- Hide a review it does not like.
- Pay to remove a review.
- Take down a review of itself.
Claiming a place gives you a voice in the conversation. It does not give you a veto over it.
How reviews are attested
Every review is confirmed by email. This ties a review to a real, reachable person and keeps the corpus honest. It is a lightweight check that raises the cost of fake voices without asking guests to create accounts.
Reporting content
There is a report and flag queue for content that breaks the rules. If a review contains something that should not be there, you or anyone can flag it for review.
When something is removed
Removal is Dafado's decision, and only for breaking the rules. A review is not removed because a place dislikes it. It is removed when it violates the policy, for example content that is not a genuine account, or that breaks the rules on abuse or harmful material. The judgment sits with Dafado, not with the place being reviewed.
The promise in one line
